Description
A brood frame is a type of frame found in a beehive that is specifically designed to hold the comb on which honey bees raise their young (brood). The comb in the brood frame is usually made of wax and it is where the queen bee lays her eggs, and the workers tend to the eggs and the developing larvae. The brood frames are usually located in the center of the hive, where the temperature is more constant, and have a distinctive dark color, due to the higher concentration of pollen and nectar. The brood frames are an important part of the colony, as they are responsible for the growth and survival of the colony.
